Default Help!

Hi, friends ~

I am computer illiterate. I was doing okay on NT, but today, one of the good friends I have made here, asked me to install Yahoo messenger for purposes of chatting. I did, but now I can no longer send PM's from the NT site, and several other things have changed as well. I have essentially lost Google and don't know how to get it back. Any advice in simple terms for the simple minded? You can't know how much I would appreciate getting back on kilter, as I love this forum. It's why I get up in the morning. Thanks so much! billie PS. can't use emoticons to the right, either. Wierdness.

Hi Billie!!

As far as sending a PM to someone here at NT... just click on their name and you will see a link to send a PM to that person...

for Google--- www.google.com

If you have any other questions...just let us know... someone will always be along shortly to help you in any way that we can.

Do you log off your computer daily or keep it on?

If you keep it on, you should log off after installing that program, and reboot it.
It might correct things.

Also there is a thing called the "cache". This needs to be dumped/cleaned periodically. Go to HELP at the top of your browser and search CACHE...and follow those directions.

This may help also.

Jo may be on here soon, she is really good with this stuff.

Some programs will install extras , there might have been a little check box during installation but those are easy to miss.

The only thing I can think of it that the IM program might have added a tool bar or changed your home page.

It shouldn't have affected the PM sending from here at NT.

If you don't care for the changes you could uninstall the IM program and see if everything goes back the way it was.

Here is a site called meebo - where you can sign on to many IM in one place and no downloads or installing anything.

[Any computer, any IM network
Just go to meebo.com to chat with your buddies on every major IM network in a single buddylist. Login with the IM account you already have, there's nothing to download or install, and it's totally free.]
