Question wondering

I was just wondering if my teacup chihuahua could be a service dog. I have bad anxiety and she really helps me stay calm when i go places, such as a supermarket or any store. My doctor told me he would write me a letter is that good enough or do i need to do something else, and im not sure if she would be called a service dog or not. please help. Thanks:

It depends on the laws of your state. My suggestion is to go to your state website and do a search for service dog. My state requires papers to prove a service dog has been trained.

Check the links at the top of this forum. I think there is info on this topic. You should be able to find help training your dog to get certified - which you will probably need to do, if you want to bring her into stores and such.

But don't worry about the training. Chihuahuas are brilliant dogs and yours will probably learn what is required quite easily - and I bet she loves having a job to do.

Good luck and let us know how it works out for you.
