Heart What's on your plate????

Had a busy morning...made dressing, cranberry relish and got interviewed for an article about our new support group...

The dressing is a new recipe..not sure Mr.Alffe will give it a go...has artichoke hearts, roasted redpeppers, sweet basil in addition to the celery and onion.

I'm beginning to wrap Christmas presents and get the out of towns ready to mail...post office said deadline for Christmas delivery is Dec. 11...that doesn't sound right to me...especially if it's going instate...now pkgs to Afghanistan I can understand.

Nice to see Mistiis posting.

Forget Mr Alffe, send the dressing here. I'll eat it. LOL

Let's see...went to work. Arghhhh...made it through though barely. Now I am off to start the turkey broth simmering, then a nap, then up later to make chocolate brownie pies, pumpkin pies and ambrosia. Tomorrow up very early to make dressing and get everything ready to go to my sister's, where I will cook the turkey and make the gravy. She will make the side dishes...and her KIDS will clean the kitchen.
Much to be thankful for...including everyone here.
(((hug)))
Hope everyone has a peaceful day...and enough of everything.
Love to you all

(Alffe) and (da duck) Best wishes for a Thanksgiving Day with family and friends and good food (wish I could have some of Alffe's dressing and da duck's pies)!

Alffe, will you send me a copy of the article? Thanks for always "being there" for others,

love,
reyn

Heart

And I wonder how much weight we'll all gain today! *grin Sometimes I lose sight of the fact that it's about being thankful...not about food!

I'm almost done reading a wonderful book by Elizabeth Berg and I can't help but notice the difference in our world...on so many levels. It's about three sisters who are in love with men in the service...WWII and the sacrifices everyone in this country made on behalf of our fighting men.

I hope I'm wrong in thinking that only military families are sacrificing...maybe I am still reeling from hearing the statistics of military suicides..I hate war...all wars but I'm thankful for our young men who are willing to put their lives at risk for all of us.

On my plate today.....well I won't be shopping on black Friday. And I'm hoping to get the last piece of Barbo's wonderful buttermilk pie! me oh my!

I doubt if I'll have to cook for days... I was suprised to learn that I must fill out a customs form to mail a pkg to Canada....something new???
I don't remember having to do that in the past.
