I keep checking here too and it is pretty quiet.

Sometimes I spend time on other threads and post there and then forget to check on Social Chat.

I keep checking forums I don't normally post on because even though I have nothing to say; I like to know what others are saying and doing.

today - I was going thru some of my scrapbooks .. and came across my binder of postcards from all my friends when we did the 'postcard' exchange ... that was fun and sociable ..

I enjoyed that - it had its season ... or maybe we can bring that back to life - thoughts?

"The Adventures of Pee Pee Boy and Wiping Man"

our grandson has been living us since April of this year. He's 4yo.

He just learned potty training since Feb/March of this year and he's a tiny yet long little dude. So, his bladder control isn't...shall we say..."tight?"

it started the first week that he was here...

I would find yellow marks around the bathroom alongside the baseboards...

at first, I had thought it was simple accidents...

but then, it would end up by the base of the tubs as well as other areas...

a few days later, I got suspicious and opened the door during one his sessions...

I saw him urinating on the side of the TP...

in my utmost thunderous voice, I said unto him, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???????????"

I shocked him so much that he turned around and pee'd on my legs...

and then, I think I frightened him so much that he just started to let out this big cry.

So there we were, the two of us, in the middle of a tiny bathroom, with yellow liquid running down both my legs and the bathroom walls while clear liquids were running down from his eyes...

time stood still but not too long...

I was shocked because I didn't know whether to clean my legs first or the bathroom first or him first because he also had liquid on his legs...

now, something about me...I am like Howie Mandel. I am germ phobic.

I constantly have a bottle of sanitize with me and I bleach anything that can be bleached and anything that shouldn't be bleached....Lysol is my middle and third name right before Sterile. My friends call me, "Rot Yet Steriling"

So, if there is urine on a towel, and that towel touches another object, I would not only have to wash and clean that towel, I would also have to clean that other object...and if that object shall touch something else, well...you get the picture, so on and so forth...

After I got all of us cleaned up and bleached...I asked him why he was urinating and had been urinating all over the place...

it turned out that it was my fault... I had been letting him watching a documentary on Tigers...and well, tigers pee everywhere to mark their spot....and grandson LOVES being a Tiger...but I wish he would be like the one on a CEREAL box, instead....

a daily dose of "papo, I had an accident" was/is not uncommon..

it is either he'll wake us up at 4am to tell us that he's wet the bed, or he would simply go while we're out at the playground, or Burger King, or worse, events...

And he's got some OCD himself...he's fussy about little things...if a sock lining is out of place, he'll cry about it for about 30 minutes...if his shirt was a little bit uncomfortable..and I am talking about a shirt that he has worn 10 times before, he'll cry about it for 30 minutes...

so, everything with him is about "feel" "touch" and he finds "wetness" extremely uncomfortable....

you'd think that he would then try his very best to make it to the bathroom...

oh no....he lets it go, then cries about it....and there we go again....

recently, it's gotten a little bit better with his firehose upfront...BUTT...

lately, it's the other end that we'd been having problems with...

he's been having brown accidents on the other side a lot lately...

I can only relate that to that he always wants to play and then waits until it is too late....

the problem is, I have to be very careful about removing his underware....

he is as fussy and as germ phobic as I am....

so, if either one of us or both of us would think that the "accident" has touched either one of us or our clothings...well, off would go everything and that washing machine has gotten a lot of attention since he's been here...

few weeks ago, he had the stomach flu, this is right at the heels of my in-laws stomach flu when they visited us during the Thanksgiving holidays.

I was already fighting a sinus infection and light fever...when he started to puke and let it all out on the other end...

that whole night, I must have ran back and forth to the laundry room a million times...and we literally ran out of clothes for him that I had to wrap him in a towel or just let him wear my T-shirt...

but remember, he's a fussy kid...those were NOT good enough or comfortable enough...

so, I'd had to calm him down while I do laundry the quickest that I can...

but a 45 minute cycle IS 45 minutes, drying is 30 minutes...I cannot change those numbers...

and what does he do? CRY....what do I do? Wipe....

I told my wife one day recently...I can't think of a day that I don't wash or wipe something off of him....and I am tired....

but it's a good thing that he's cute and a sweet boy....

thus, the adventures of Pee Pee Boy and Wiping...wait, WEEPING man continues...as I stop wiping and take some time off to weep a little bit while I use the rag that I used to wipe him to wipe off my tears....both of laughter and pain....

LOL Moi, as the mother of two sons, two years apart, I can relate. And I'm a germa-phobic too, lol. I used to freak out when I found piddle near the front of the potty. And we're all still alive, imagine that. The tinkle germs didn't multiply and consume us after all.

maybe I DO need the germs...

I have read recently that we have evolved alongside the parasites and that we need the parasites to keep us healthy.

Dr. Weinstock, I think was his name. He did a study on the correlation of when humans began to eradicate the parasites, the amount of autoimmune diseases increased...diseases such as MS, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis all increased as we gotten rid of the germs and parasites.

His thought is that we have evolved together.

In his experimental studies, he had found that certain parasites have been successful in aiding or even curing some of the autoimmune diseases...

his favorite worm is a "whipworm" called "Trichuris suis".

It normally only infects pigs but can live inside the human with NO noticeable side effects. Most of his Crohn's disease patients went into complete remission...

as repulsive of that as I think it is....I must say that I agree with his theory.

Everything is on this earth for a reason...except man made stuff like "Margarine", "Teflon", "made by men in a lab"....

I am not saying I am going to eat some worms as the song suggested...I am just saying, it makes sense...

I am still keeping my bottle of sanitizer...and for now, I'll keep on wiping and weeping...LOL

I used to have the utmost natural virus resistance; only once (as I recall) did I catch the heebie jeebies from our boys, (years! ago), but I was on the immune crunching meds for a few years recently, so I caught a really "snot-producing bug" a couple of weeks ago, so I can feel your pain.

It's all good and it will be ok. You're so lucky to have the adorable little curtain climbers, they're such a blessing.

Dear Moi, it's that time of year, when there are so many people about. Out in the stores, they have their little ones and you hear them talking.

A mom with her newborn; "I'm simply exhausted!"
And someone replies, "It'll get easier, once he sleeps though the night."
A mom with a two year old: "She really keeps me on my toes."
And someone says, "You'll get a minute to yourself, when she goes to school."
A dad with a five year old, "Questions questions questions!"
And someone smiles, "They stop that once they hit 10 or 12, because they know it all!"
Parents and their teens: "It's always a fight with the clothes, the friends, and *everybody else's mom lets their kid do it*!"
And someone sighs, "Oh, I remember that phase!"

You always think it's going to be easier after this *thing* has passed. And it will. And some other phase comes along. Just enjoy the ride.

Remember, you are never done. You will always be Dad. Your sense of humor is going to take you a long way.
