Unhappy R.I.P. Emmy

We had to put our little girl Emmy down on January 16, 2010. She was a 17 yr. old calico cat that my husband had since she was 8 weeks old.

When I came in the door only three cats were there to greet me so I just knew something was wrong. I went on the search for Emmy and found her on her side behind the couch, barely breathing. When I talked to her and petted her, her breathing became more pronounced so she knew I was with her. We made that dreaded call to the vet and drove a half hour to meet her there at the vets office.

I had a dream about four days prior about walking in the door and finding her dead and my husband 'fessed up that he had a premonition about Emmy dying. It's so hard to lose a pet.

my deepest sympathy to you and your husband, and the other members of your kitty family who will also be missing Emmy

Oh, I am so sorry you lost Emmy.
I have been down this road myself, so I can truly sympathize.

We have a cat who is almost 24 yrs old now, and each day I watch her like a hawk! ( and I indulge her too...yesterday I gave her some shrimp!)

I am sure your Emmy loved you and your family. She was lucky to have had you.

You have my deepest sympathy. Even though you still have 3 cats, there is a hole where Emmy belongs. Give extra love to your remaining cats. I'm sure they miss her too.

I'm so sorry to hear about this. It's just so hard to lose a beloved pet.

Emmy was very fortunate to have been in your family. It sounds like she was pampered and spoiled.....as cats deserve to be.

Thanks for giving her such a wonderful life.

I'm just now starting to crawl out of the fog of the last few days. I am so sorry for those who've lost furchildren too. It's so heartbreaking to lose them but I just can't imagine myself ever being without pets. They just bring so much joy and love to our lives.

My sincere condolences. I truly understand your pain. I lost my "Buddy" almost a year ago. I still look for him every day when I walk in the door. I am sooooo sorry.

I'm so sorry for our loss. As a pet lover, I know there isn't anything I can say that can ease that ache in your heart. I just hope it helps a little to know that people here understand your sorrow and to remember the fabulous life you gave Emmy. She'll be waiting for you.

Cheers

Emmy had a good life with you and your DH but it still hurts when they leave us in this world. We lost our Sweet Pea a few years ago at about the same age.

Thinking of you at this time. Its always hard to when one of the family dies, theres an empty spot, especially after 17 years.
