I am sending prayers your way for a quick recovery on your road to remission. Just remember to keep your pillow handy for coughing & sneezing.

I too am sending good thoughts your way. Are you having this done the full sternatomy way?

I too was a bit nervous the night before, it was nerve racking, yet i was told to take some Melatonin before sleeping, and it did help, yet ive used it too much now, and it doesnt do anything. So if you havent tried it, it may work for the first time. - Also can b taken with mg, is what my Neuro told me, its not like other sleep helpers. But, thats my neuro..

Anyway. I hope you recover very well, im sure you well. Its a long road, but, i know you can do it. If i did, you can.

Also, i didnt go into surgery until about 1 oclock, and i was sched. to be the first surgery of the day, had alot of emergencies, so you may just wait a while in there, so bring something to keep you occupied. that was the worst part!

Anyway. Im sure youll do great! Enjoy the pain meds.

You will be in my thoughts! Remember they have come a long way since I had mine 19 years ago so I am sure you will Ace it..LOL

Keep your pillow or tightly folded sheet close by, it will help when you cough or sneeze.

And take it slow! relax and give your body time to heal, I know you will want to do "everything" but don't! LOL

Keep your eyes on the prize, I hope you get the same outcome I did, just remember it takes time.

Thanks everyone!! I stayed in the hospital for 4 days. I was released from hospital yesterday...A casemanager came in and seemed to really want me to be discharged from hospital...she has arranged a nurse to follow me at home for awhile..and change chest tube dressings. I had a MG crisis during recovery...had a hard time waking up from anesthesia...and they had to withhold narcotics for about a hour until I woke up...I woke up in severe pain..and my eyes muscles were so weak and caused my vision to become blurry...could not swallow or talk..SCARY! Day after surgery was the worst--I had an anxiety attack from all the MG symptoms and pain from surgery. However, I am improving each day...Day 3 was a turning point for me...I feel more like myself...just want my eye sight back! I can swallow and talk...left hip muscle is still week...having to use my cane. This is not a easy surgery...even if it is a thorascopic procedure.
