Public input sought on services needed for the disabled in Va. A new assessment of Virginia's services for people with disabilities is beginning with comments from people who need those services and people who provide them.

A series of public comment forums by the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities included Richmond on Tuesday and Portsmouth on Wednesday. The final forum will be Monday in Falls Church.

Yes, most of the meetings have already taken place but they are still accepting input via mail and email for anyone who is interested. I encourage everyone who has had any experience with the Disability Services in Virginia to please speak up. This includes SSDI applicants and recipients.

My own battle with SSDI has lasted over 9 months, and I continue to fight still waiting for an answer. And I know I am not the only one.
