Trig Poor Bird

I just went through the worst thing. I have the back door open because it's such a beautiful day, finally. I was in my room when I looked out my door I noticed all my animals were looking up, I walked out to the living room, when all of a sudden there was a bird flying, my roommate said oh it will stay up. Well how wrong he was, it flew right into my dogs mouth. I opened my dogs mouth, and grabbed the bird. It was still breathing and had a heavy heart rate. I grabbed a shoe box and a towel and put the bird in a dark place. I watched it pick it's head up three times, and then just collapsed. It died. I checked three or four times before I could bury it. Now I'm worried it has babies somewhere waiting for their mommy. I feel so bad. Bad dog.

That's not the end. The phone rings and it's the police. The women on the other end of the phone said the police are outside and they want everyone in the house to go outside. So my roommate and I walk outside. They ask if I'm alright. They made us walk up to them slowly. They said the neighbors called and said somebody was screaming. I told them it was me, I was screaming because of the bird. I started crying and said my dog killed this little bird. I know they wanted to laugh, but they were very professional. So little bird. RIP.
