I think almost all, if not all, of them are still there. The Chicago river flows backwards and there is a wonderful architectural boat tour you can take.
Of course everything now is built taller. Macy's dept. store bought Marshall Fields but a lot of us still refer to it the same way.

in August they have Mediaval festivals and battles [ 300-500 soldiers plus horse spectacular..........plus falconry which is amazing ]
