Default jpg dpi

I am wondering if you would know how to change a 96 dpi to 300. My original graphic was created in powerpoint. But when I save it to jpg it automatically saves it to 96 dpi. I need it to be in 300dpi. the only thing I can find on the internet requires me to purchase a program to do this. Do yo know of a way to make the change that won't cost.
Thank you so much!

maybe this will help -

Do you have the image {a copy} saved in a separate file so you can play around with it now?

here's some free software for image management - not sure which one would be best for you - might have to try the top rated ones to see if they do what you want.

I have Picasa3 and didn't see a dpi setting on it.

oh I just checked another prg I have - it's free too!

Photoscape

in the edit section when you save a picture - at the bottom of the pop up window there is a DPI setting - you need to check the box and then you can set it for 300 dpi.

It has a lot of settings and easy to get over whelmed but there is an undo button and I always save as a "new name" so I always keep the original and it doesn't get changed.

get it here-
