Wink Raccoon video: stealing a rug:

We have 3 babies who come out now from up in our Oak tree.

They are really cute.

This video was on CuteOverload today, and is pretty funny for those who live with raccoons!

.

This one is interesting too... the kittie looks like our Oreo..

This raccoon is persistent in stealing the cat's food!

.

Our cats do NOT tangle with raccoons. We've seen the cats on their cushions on the porch while the raccoons walk around the porch (after coming in the pet door).

Thanks for the good belly-laugh!!
The 'music score' to the racoon/rug clip is worth an Oscar!

Oh. My. Goodness. So cute!! I love the music in the background. You hafta wonder what's going through their little mind while they're stealing your stuff!

ok, i don't know racoons well... maybe a rug fetish is not uncommon among coons?
.
but i thought...

his claws got caught in the rug... at which point he got distressed and decided to go away from the rug which was messing with him... and he was just pulling away from it... but with a claw caught of course the rug went with... sound plausible?

the way it all plays out he's so "furtive" looking... and since he uses his other paw (i think still to try to free himself from rug) but it does make one think of stealing... it's funny to see it that way, but i think we're anthropomorphizing, no?

just an impression...

(having seen my cat, too many times, trying to "rip a screen off a window" .... cat in reality just trying - violently - to free caught claw....)

Raccoons can carry rabies. In fact all mammals including humans can carry rabies. Raccoons, skunks, foxes and bats are some of the main ones. Nothing to sneeze at. They can be cute though; the raccoons I mean. I hate skunks and bats. Foxes can be cute as well.

My grandmother had a pet raccoon. Her name was Stoney. I have a picture of my cousin and I with the raccoon. We were young.
