Default Meagan

Just received an e-mail from the Sheltie rescue organization we're members of that one of two Shelties we sponsor, Meagan, who's in a forever foster home because of her neurological problems has internal bleeding, but they don't know as yet what's wrong. She's only two years old.

Meagan was taken in by Rescue after she'd been thrown from a moving car. She has brain damage, is paralyzed on one side of her face and has some seizure activity as a result of that beyond cruelty act done to her.

I'm asking that anyone who reads this to please send whatever wishes, hopes and prayers for her they can. Thank you.

I just hate to hear of things like this happening.......I'm praying for Meagan and hope she makes a strong comeback.

She doesn't deserve this.

Sheltiemom,

Any news today on Meagan?

One of my cats, Gavin, was thrown from a car because he was not wanted. We got him when he was 4 months old (he is currently 4 years old). Thankfully, besides a snaggle tooth and a jaw surgery, he has had no further medical problems.

Will continue to send prayers and good thoughts for you and for Meagan. Let us know if you hear anything else.

My name is Sarah and I am 25 years old. I have a lot of chronic health problems. Peripheral neuropathy and POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) keep me bedridden the majority of the time. I also struggle with degenerative disc disease, disc desiccation, spondylolisthesis, arthritis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) with insulin resistance, allergies, sound sensitivities, and other health problems.

Thanks very much, Sarah Mae. What a shame that happened to Gavin, but thankfully he recovered and has a great home with you.

Bit of an update on Meagan: Although we sponsor her, she does not live with us. She cannot be adopted because of her neurological problems and lives with very capable foster parents.

She's been on some meds - although I don't know what specifically. We're told that she's acting normally but twice tried to throw up a small, bland meal that she given. Other than that, I don't know anything else. It's possible she might need an ultrasound, and only certain veterinary hospitals can do those.

Really appreciate the best wishes, thoughts and prayers that have been sent to her (and to me) from all of you. Am sure they'll help her.

Best wishes to you and your pets,

Sheltiemom

Hi,

The cause of Meagan's problems was identified by imaging studies, and it's inflammation of the small intestines. She's on meds and a prescription diet now, and hopefully these will take care of this.

She continues to act normally and is being quite playful. Fingers are very crossed that she gets over this sooner rather than later.

Thanks again to all for replying!
