Default Question............

Before PD, how many of us suffered with chronic sinus infections and/or allergies requiring nasal sprays?

Since 1981. Chronic, though periodically mollified, but not cured, with cortisone sprays and frequent courses of antibiotics. PD appeared at my door 5 years ago. I shouldn't have answered. . . .

I was plagued with sinus infections and was given sulfur drugs (Bactrim). It was a chronic condition but somehow disappeared after my PD.

This article talks about the high incidence of "runny nose" in PWP. I certainly have it and go nowhere without tissues.

Include me - chronic rhinitis. I have read that about 25% of PWP's suffer from this. Connection with sleep apnoeia and oxygen deprivation to the brain? My female friend told me on holiday that I stop breathing when I'm asleep and post op I had to have an oxygen mask the first night "because you are not getting enough oxygen" I told my doctor what my friend said which only confirmed what I had suspected for a long time but he just looked at me like they do when they don't really believe you. I'm not a bull-necked middle aged man so I'm not allowed to have it I suppose!!! One on my list to pursue some time.

Default yup

I did. Severe rhinitis, took excessive amounts of ephedrine, excessive as in I ate more walphed or whatever I could get than M&M's.

Of course I did that to myself but it didn't help that the guys I was on duty with at the firehouse kept the place so cold the polar bears wouldn't come in. I always had sinus infections.
