My 12 yr. old golden sweetie was lying on the family room floor a bit ago when the back part of his body began twitching/seizing. He looked blank in his face, so I don't think it was painful. DH and I moved him to his bed, when the movement stopped after a couple of minutes...
Does anyone know what this might be? I'm frantic...

Did he pee or have frothy vomit? When my Boston had a seizure, she had all of the above. Can you call an after hours vet clinic just to run it by someone if you are too panicked to wait or call your vet in the AM?

You should talk to your vet...I know that my...Bow...behaved in much the same way and it was a stroke.
It could be anything...so sorry...keep us updated

I hope you are able to get to see your vet this morn. nothing worse than a sick animal. My cat has been keeping me busy for months with issues. its so scary to wait. Most vets have an after hours number you can call for advice or to speak to a covering vet.
I hope sweetie feels better.

Hope it's nothing serious, Debbie. Could it be the fumes from the floors you had refinished? Or maybe he got into something that was left on the floor that hadn't quite dried yet? Let us know how he's doing when you get the chance.

He's lethargic today...won't eat, but drinking tons of water.
He did go out to get the papers, and when getting to the second one, his back legs collapsed, but he managed to get back up on his own. He DID eat the reward treats  I'm going to let him rest until this afternoon...we did go for a walk yesterday, and he totally enjoyed it. Occasionally he would look up at me with the sweetest happiest look on his face...if this is his time, I will carry that image with me the rest of my life. I love my doggie with all of my heart, but it is stressful watching him decline  He's had a rough go of it, with twisted stomach twice and a surgery to repair the problem after the second one. He's had arthritis for a few years now...and he's gotten so thin the past few months...I hate making the decision to let him go, because he has bounced back so many times...my kids always say "oh he's dying...again?" when I call to tell them it's time. the vet says he might have liver/kidney issues too. So DH said this morning to just love him and let him rest, and watch, as we have done before so many times...thanks for the advice...and the caring...

Deb, my neighbors dog has seizures and it's related to his sugar. They give him a teaspoon of syrup and it helps stop the seizures. So sorry. Let us know how he does.
