Default My sweet furbaby Sanford

Our sweety passed peacefully yesterday afternoon...he was declining all day, lost feeling in his back legs so couldn't walk. he had difficulty breathing as the day went on, and he became cyanotic (lack of oxygen).
By the time we took him in, his eyelids and tongue were without color, and he was panting. When the doc saw him, and heard what we'd observed, he said he probably had internal bleeding or threw a clot.
We made the decision to end his misery, and pet him and said goodbye as he slipped away.
I used to be able to get him to sleep, almost hypnotically, by moving my hands up and down gently in front of his face and saying, "Go to sleep..." over and over until he laid his head down and closed his eyes.
This was the last thing I did as he slipped away...

Our hearts are broken...12 years of drool, fur all over us, and joy...the happy memories are already flooding my head, yet my eyes are still wet...

Unhappy

I am so sorry... for your loss.

We just lost our 24 yr old Sheba last month. It was devastating to me too!

I cried everyday for 3 weeks. I think the crying is necessary, so don't fight it.

Pets bring so much to us all, their unconditional love, companionship and devotion are truly precious. Their passing is very very painful therefore.

Our Sheba had kidney failure and we had to put her to sleep too.
That part really was the worst. We knew at her age intellectually her time was over, but emotionally, that is an entirely different thing!

So sorry for your loss. It's so hard to lose a precious companion.

AW DebbieD, I am so sorry for your loss.

People who don't bring up furbabies don't realise how much we grieve our little sweethearts. You rest and stay well.

Love, Sally
