Default Saved email now empty

My email is set up so it is stored on MSN, not my computer. I went to open an email from several weeks ago and it was empty. I mean no message and no headings either. When I closed it and looked again in the folder it listed a sender, arrival date, and size amount. I just created a new folder and started moving empty emails to that folder. I now realize that is going to be a huge project. I'm not finding a pattern to what is missing. Dates jump all over the place. I have noticed if there was an attachment the whole thing is probably empty now. Not all mail with attachments is gone though.

What happened? And more importantly, can I get these back? I'm missing things that are pictures that can't be replaced any other way. Can I prevent this from happening again? How? This has happened before and no a whim I discovered they were fine on a different computer. I haven't looked to see if I could get them on a different one this time yet. All I did was sign into the same mail account from a different computer. We had two others at the time and only one had the empty mail.

Thanks for your help.

Shocked

I would definitely look at them on another computer!

I have had things/mysteries happen on this old desktop you wouldn't believe!

I'll look. I just don't quite have the willpower to do it right now. I'll be devastated if some things are gone for good. I know. Denile is more than a river.

Shocked

I've had saved emails disappear from MSN too... just poof...gone... no warning and never to be found again.

Things that I can never get back... pictures from friends.

Now I save them on my computer and put them on disc or flash drive each month.

I hope you are able to find yours...

Abbie

Hi JustWeave,
You mean they are saved online at a website and they are gone?
But another time they were gone on one computer and you could see them on another computer?

I'm thinking try another computer to see if these show up or not - before getting too stressed.

If they do show up on the other computer - then it must be a security setting /cookies/cache problem on the 1st computer.

Or if you try computer #1 again and they are showing at that time -then it could be issues at the website - a down time, glitch or such.
But hopefully they would let people know if they are having issues on the website.

That's all I can think of for now- either problems at the email site or settings etc on the one computer for some reason.

Woohoo!!!!! My blank emails are back!!! Happy dance time! I didn't do anything either. My computer just burped loudly and now they are back. I never did check other computers to see if they were there. Denial is more than a river in Egypt you know.

Yes, my mail is set up to be stored by another website, not my computer. I lost stuff once before when we had more than one computer. The mail wasn't on the one I usually use but it was on another one. I remember I checked them just minutes apart. Never did figure that out.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
