A friend has sent me a bottle of capsules of a product called StemEnhance made by a company called Stemtech, plus a book describing its mode of action. I had never heard of it before, but it is claimed to promote the release of stem cells to the bloodstream.
A quick search revealed the inevitable claims that it is a scam, (over 2,000 hits) plus 48,000 serious hits endorsing the product. Has anyone tried it? Any information on the product? Ron

haven't tried it, never will. as far as pd, if stem cells produced in bone marrow could already naturally repair brain damage, we wouldn't have pd. obviously a wound triggers a cascade of cells reproducing, there are definately treatments which speed up wound healing.
i can lift weights and increase my muscle size. i can take steroids or growth hormone and increase muscle size, change my metabolism. but it would seem to me that unless other hormones/growth factors trigger these stem cells to differentiate, they would be useless. and they would need to be local to the damaged tissue. does your friend sell them? |

Hi Soccertise.
No, my friend certainly does not sell this product. He has bought this bottle for me in a mistaken attempt to help me over PD. He means well, but i fear he has wasted his money. I am increasingly thinking it is a scam. I do however remember from far back that products containng blue/ green algae ( which is what Stemtech is claimed to be based on,) were sold as a supplement but no claims about promoting stem cells were made. I won't risk taking them. Best wishes Ron

First, let me offer my best wishes with your ongoing battle with PD. Whilst I've never been personally affected (my family has a history of brain tumors for the men), any disease we face, whatever the label, is challenging. I think your friend has your best interests at heart, but it is incorrect if they have told you StemEnhance will help your PD. It will not. StemEnhance will do nothing for PD, cancer, arthritis or any other condition. It will do one thing and one thing only -- trigger the release of adult stem cells from your bone marrow. Where these adult stem cells go from there, depends on the individual and the areas of the body that need to be repaired. Depending on our stress, lifestyle, environment, the rate at which our cells breakdown will differ. This release has been proved in a triple-blind study and published in a medical journal: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17765649?ordinalpos=5&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez. Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPan el.Pubmed_RVDocSum The Scientist behind the discovery is Christian Drapeau, who has recently authored the book, Cracking the Stem Cell Code. And the booklet you most likely received is The Stem Cell Theory of Renewal. I can assure you StemEnhance is in no way a scam and that many people -- myself included -- who have been taking since 2005 have had improved health as a result of more bone marrow derived adult stem cells in their bloodstream. Regards, Matt |

It is more than a scam... it may also be toxic.
A few short minutes on the net and I found these two sites, that discuss this product: http://bayblab.blogspot.com/2007/10/...apeaustem.html http://www.drdalepeterson.com/Stemen...3af43e7cd.html Pay specific attention to the second link please.

As for things that are toxic, take any cleaner in your house and read the label. Carbon monoxide is toxic, cigarette smoke is toxic, additives in artificial sweetners are toxic, yet every single day we are exposed to them. From my understanding of the cell tech case, they were harvesting the algae from side canals, not the actual lake body itself. If the algae from Lake Klamath truly were toxic, then the FDA would surely shut down the companies harvesting there. But it isn't and vigorous testing eunsure the algae that is harvested is safe for human consumption. |

The sales rep at the health food store said a thin brown string in my iris detected through a hand held feedback device what he idenrified as poop, of some nature, in my eyeballs. It was convincing ....lol I didn't buy it because they went to a lot of pains to not reveal that it was blue green algea.
