Default Australian floods

The current floods are now encompassing the entire east coast of Australia in one way or another.

In reply to a request, I started a thread on the SOS Forum, and everyone is welcome there.

Those who might like to send messages of support for NT's Australian members (and we have many) .... those who'd like me to check on friends who live in the flood zones .... and for those who'd just like to know what's happening at the moment, please feel free to contribute.

Please remember that all emergency services are stretched to the limit here in Australia at the moment.

Although I am more than happy to help allay your fears about a friend or two in Queensland, please check check with me if they live in a flooded area or not, and even then.... please try to raise your friend by phone yourself first, so as to limit my calls to the emergency phone numbers.

If you fail to contact your friend(s), I am more than happy to help if I can.

That is so sweet of you, Koala. I'm sure those with family members in the affected areas much appreciate your offer.

Jaime_S in Victoria, do you have power? Are you online or under flood?

Redtail from WA. Are you safe where you are?

Lara and Ziggy in QLD, and any other Australian members, please check in if you can. We're all worried about you.

I've recently moved to the Tasmanian south and at present the flooding in this state is restricted to the east coast, with a just little in the northeast and the northwest, so I am quite safe.... at least for now.

I have updated the thread on SOS for anyone who wishes to read/ and or post there. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread142939.html

** It was never my intention to ask for financial aid but please know that Australians need all the help they can get. Anyone wishing to donate can do so through the Queensland Government's official website.

Hi all,
Sorry I haven't checked in for a while...I have been moving house...and all that packing/unpacking has kept me busy!
All is well where I live. With all this flooding, it pays NOT to live near a river...and Bendigo isn't near a river, thankfully! But many small towns nearby have been flooded, and some still are flooded in Western parts of Victoria. The flooding in Queensland, especially Toowoomba and Brisbane, would have been scary as well as devastating when they happened so quickly!
