If this Dr is going to take you off benzo's without a proper taper schedule, he should have his license to practice revoked permenantly

Default Hi lou lou

I am thinking of you. I hope you will try to get into another drs. care. The people that are making you miserable obviously have never had a cronic pain or condition. Their turn may come someday, and they will have a different opinion when they need the meds. Let me know what happens and if I can help anymore. keep in touch, you are not alone. ginnie

is the doctor prescribing a substitute? are you still confined to a hospital?

if not , can you change neuros? i have to have xanax when i get strung out with too much going on around me and have to multi-task. but mostly for sleep.
good luck,

good luck,
in that they need to give you a less potent substitute as you slowly taper down from. Slowly means months not weeks. I did it over the course of five days and mixed with tapering off sinemet and miirapex at same time...not fun at all. Recommended substitute is valium but not sure how that mixes with pd control drugs.

Benzobuddies is patient driven forum and they have three "best for patient practice" methods stopping benzos. I would take it into the doctor and inform him that you are only interested in using one of those approaches. If he or she balks, then I would leave the office. Even the straight taper down approach suggest no more than 10% of total dose every 7-14 days. Stopping all in two weeks after long term use may land you in the hospital.
Please see if even a GP or family doctor will assist you with a slower, safer, pace.

Default hi lou lou

No you really should not taper so fast. If you feel bad enough, get to the hospital. to get off these drugs is indeed as hard as heroine. You need help, and I don't want to see you so sick you can't function. Buspur I tried, and it knocked me out too. Want me to call my friend in mo? ginnie
