Default Daily Insights, the Summer of 2011

Kelly told me I could be the new thread-starter!

I wish I had some insight to go along with it, but I'm just sitting here watch-listening to the Red Sox game, munching a string cheese, chilling. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Okay, everybody, jump right and share, share, share!

Here's the link to the newest "old" thread (I hope):

Thanks, B2Y!! You did it perfectly!

I wish I had some insight to share, too. It's 8:45 PM on a Friday night and here I sit in my nightgown trying to stay awake until at least 9 PM.

It's hard to believe that another 4th of July has rolled around again. July is usually a little difficult for me. Wedding anniversary on 7/6 and then the anniversary of DH's death on the 9th. This year will mark 10 years. Hard to believe that much time has passed. But.....don't mean this post to be a downer. I'm very proud of the progress I've made over the last decade. I'm tougher.....stronger.....and definitely more ornery!

Okay, I made it to 8:48 PM and I think that's going to be all she wrote. Ya'll have a nice evening and I'll see ya in the morning.

Ha, I wonder how many of us are sitting in our jammies, waiting for it to be time to go to bed? Too soon, and the phone might ring or we might wake up too early. Anything after 8:42 is "almost nine o'clock", and a respectable time to shut 'er down.

I think I'll watch one more inning.

I didnt wait. I put on jammies and was flat by 8. I did watch a couple of TV programs but fell asleep before I could finish a few. zzzzz....

Im sorry about your DH. I wonder sometimes what would happen if I lost mine. This town is chucked full of widows and they lean heavily on each other. They are always going out to here and there.

Jack the cat has been pretty sick the last couple of days. He seems better this morn. I dragged a neighbor over to teach her how to inject him. The pet sitter I have hired isnt reliable, or at least I dont think I have gotten the message across to her that Jack really is SICK! she poo pooed me the last time I mentioned that he really needed a shot, and told me "we were just fine before momma got home, huh jack. momma makes jack nervous" well, I almost smacked her! I have spent a year in hello kitty with this cat and wont allow her to step in and reduce all of my stress and fears into a statement that makes it appear that I am the one forcing treatments on this cat. She is coming tuesday to do windows here, and I plan on a loooong talk with her. If she gets it, she stays. if not I will hire out elsewhere. She tried hard to make a point that I was being "over reactive" to the situation. So, this should be fun.

im off for my walk. DH is racing his motor at the door.

Good Morning!

Just sitting here having my coffee and watching the outside kitties lay in the cool grass. They are the sweetest kitties and just love each other so much. They're always bathing each other and sleeping with their legs stretched out over each others tummies.

No big plans for this weekend. It's gonna be so hot here and no relief in sight for the next seven days. I think this has been one of the hottest Spring/Summer seasons we've had in a long time.

Well, time for another cup of coffee and read a little. I sound lazy don't I? Oh, well. It is what it is.

Ya'll stay safe and have a good Saturday.

Good Morning! I don't have any plans for the weekend either. It is too hot here also -- mid 90s. I have lots of tv programs that I recorded while away so that and reading are my big plans

ahhhh...Blessings2You.. you little instigator you! Thanks for starting off our summer thread.

I was in bed 2 hours earlier last night as well! It has been a long, hot and tiring week, BUT we have AC!! Boy, do we have AC... it was 92 in the house when they finished up. It took almost 4 hours for the AC to cool the house to 76, but it has run maybe a total of an hour since then. It has kept the house at a constant 76. The old unit was running 24/7 and barely able to cool to 78.

We have no big weekend plans. We always seem to be playing catchup on chores around here. We will probably BBQ on Sunday or Monday.

TKTC, I keep my AC set at 70 degrees! I just get too hot if it's any warmer than that. And my house is a ranch style! No upstairs! I think I just got used to it being so cold when DH would keep the A/C set at 68 in the summer and the heat set at 65 in the winter! Oh well, it kept his Mom away!

I just went outside and dumped a bucket of ice cubes in the outside kitties water bowl. It melted immediately! They drink alot these days and I noticed a red bird getting himself a drink there this morning! I hope he keeps a lookout over his shoulder!

Hi all. I don't post much, but I read every day. I'm just doing what I can to keep things going around here and it always seems too much to type it all out. I love you guys and will keep reading - maybe someday I will feel less overwhelmed.

I keep my duplex at 70 during the day and 68 at night. One of the reasons I am not sure about moving to Austin is that my sister told me they can't get their house below 76 degrees. Their house is only about 5 years old.
