Default Question about medicines and updates

Hello,

Well I got a yelling from my best friend who is a doctor.
She knew o had stuff going on for years but I never told we full details and especially last Years stuff getting bad.

She lives in another state so she dose not know much.
Any ways I told her everything and cried about how much nerve pain is all over.
She said she has asked many neuro collegues
And it Dosent make any sense

She said she had never seen any one so severe as me. As it's all over in every inch front and back. Nonstop.

So her while yelling was about why I ruining my life staying in bed all day and life is passing me by. She said why I don't try medicines. As it's ridiculous to be in pain. She said forget what caused it at this point. You may never find out. But treat it and there are great medicines.
She went on and on about how great these meds are
But I know better on how they have cause so much grief.

She said it docent matter. You have to try what works and so why if it's forever and you feel drunk. If it tones it down then great!

I didn't argue so that was that.

I have tried lyrica and gained 30 pounds and not an ounce of difference
Infact I felt some were worsens symptoms.

She said obviously I am depressed and it's
Making things worse !

Ok so I went to acupuncture and I ha wonderful four days. Yes I had spasms still and aches but none nerve pain that just kill
Me.

Accupuncturist is really good I like her. She has given some food reccendations
and told me to avoid spicy food. Burnt from Pakistan thats all I eat is firey hot food.

My question is: he said she will give me Chinese medicine. Are they safe?

Second is gabapentin better.
Like my friend said no one cam do this for me and it's my decision to be miserable. She even said sometimes people get caught in the cycle that they get attention and unconsciously people don't get better !!! :-(

I know there more test I need but I am in limbo without insurance.
My last immunoglobulins point elevations but I can't move forward with more test

All my pain whether cramp or not is from nerve. Just in one inch spot where nerve is firing cramps up!

Has ivig worked for anyone.

I am doing a lot of green smoothies and juice and eating organic and no junk and glutin. Just started.

So 8!normal Emg/ ncv later neuro has washed his hands off my case.

One note my muscle biopsy said minor denervation and renovation!! But doc just disregards that.

Ok. Rant and questions.
Sorry.
I recently had b12 recheck and it was almost 1000 numbers

Thanks to all

I would definitely stop all spicy-- food.

If you have nightshade intolerance, any pepper based seasoning can cause more burning for you. I cannot tolerate "hot" stuff anymore.

Stop the seasonings, for 2 weeks, and see if you feel better.
Slowly introduce one at a time, only to see if you relapse.
This is the easiest way to spot some food intolerance issue.

I also have some problems with curry powder.

Wow, this is nasty bad. There are many combos of meds, diet, supportive treatments out here to be tried. It sounds like you have very little to lose by seeking treatment. Good luck

At one time I made a list of the various interventions and drugs used for PN treatments. (some of our members here helped with their input too).

It was on another board, which crashed and lost all its data.

I had a copy of it and put it up here when we moved here 4+ yrs ago.

Some of the stuff is still up to date, but some newer things are not on that list. The list cannot be edited anymore, and besides we now have our SubForum which took up some of the informational slack etc. Perhaps when I get back from my vacation, this summer, I'll make a new thread in the SubForum on drugs specifically used for symptom relief or the few treatment options like IVIG and other biological agents becoming more well known.

IVIG has its own thread in the SubForum now.
