Default Time flying by...

Is it just me, or does it seem like time just flies by when your recovering from a brain injury?

I just got a call from a buddy of mine that I go to bible study with. He asked if we were going today. I couldn't believe it's already been a week since we last went...it's like time is just flying right on by without me noticing. Everything from the time we went to bible study last until today is kind of a blur.

Anyone else notice this?

Time always passes by exactly the same for me due to the unchanging nature of time itself. Whether slightly busy/occupied or not busy at all; waiting for another day to end.

I've heard others mention perceptions of time, though. Sorry not to be of much help.

For me, I'm painfully aware of how slow time is just dragging ahead as I wait for my head to reboot. It feels like it couldn't go any slower...

Sorry, one of my side effects is a case of smart-***-ness.

On a serious side, the nurse practioner at my neurologists practice did ask me if I was aware of time. Not sure if many with injuries kind of loose that ability or awareness till the brain heals.

Time awareness can vary with cognitive symptoms. I think the internal clock can lose focus.

The way I deal with any sense that time is going slowly is simple. Get up and do something, no matter how simple it may be. Staring at the wall waiting for a sudden recovery is going to slow that recovery.

First, occupy a minute with something simple, then an hour, then a day. Time will begin to speed up. Anxiety is what slows time down.

NWSmith, oh my goodness, yes. Time flies for me. Especially when my symptoms are bad. I think it may have to do with zoning out somewhat.

It has been 2+ years and I really don't know where many of my days go. Especially the bad ones where I can't seem to do anything. Not even watch tv - so what the heck did I do all day? I dunno!

2+ years, wow..that's a long time to be dealing this. I'm right behind you at 7 months and it seems like there is no end in site.

Ever since I made this thread, I started a journal. Now I can keep track of what I've been doing and how I'm feeling.
