Default Who made SMARTIES any way?!

I love to eat them, No matter what colour first or last!! Lots of them!! I think it may have a little bit to do with a monthly occurance in my life but Smarties are a real big weakness of mine. Actually all yummy, fattening food is a weakness for me! I don't know if I am the only one but I really do have a hard time stopping when I am binging on something like Smarties. If anyone was to walk in on me pigging out I would likely be embarrassed and hide them, but I would not stop thinking about them untill they were gone!! While I am eating them I deliberately do not think...I seem to blank out everything in my mind....eat them...and then afterwards fell like crap because of it. Then I get into the call myself names mode...figure I will always be fat so I may as well head back to the fridge to look for something else!!When I do all this I also push my blood sugar up and feel awful because of it. It makes no sense to me but I live it day to day!! It is driving me CRAZY!! Sorry had to vent....Dorrie

OMG! Another Smarties freak! I love them too. When I was working one summer with at risk students, I lived on them! It was to the point that my supervisor, presented me with a huge bag of Smarties at the end of the summer as a gag gift.
I so know how you feel!

Okay, I looked up smarties....they have their own website. www.smarties.com They are made by Ce De Candy Inc. from England in 1932 and came to the US in 1949. They also make those candy necklaces and watches we used to eat years ago!
So....here is the history of those yummmmmmy, addicting candies!

Alright I am a sad, sorry person to actually look up Smarties.

Oh My Goodness!!! Ce De Candy is also in Newmarket, Ontario...about a 15 minute drive from me!!! They also make rockets, those little pill candies. I was told that our family is also related to the ROWNTREE family that makes some sort of chocolates!! I guess its really in my blood!! I had a really awful day, healthy eating wise, but I can feel myself getting mentally prepared to make some positive lifesyle changes. I need to make the time to prepare food for myself instead of grabbing the first thing I spot. Sometimes if I buy a new pretty notebook and pen to track my eating habits, it helps. I spent the day today with my absolutely beautiful 3 month old grandaughter. Her name is Saffire and I just love the little angel!!!
