uh...er....erhm...... I think I would do better on the high diving forum.
I spent more than 60 years being painfully skinny. For the past few years my neurologist threatened me with hospitalization to see if I'd go over 100 lb on hospital food instead of a diet of cigarettes, Diet Pepsi and Ding Dongs .

Well, Oct. 2005 I quit smoking and started eating. Oh, how I eat. Now what? I'm 5' 3", small bones, and over 150 lb.

Lots of problems too long, complicated and boring to go into -- count your blessing before you sleep but -- good grief. I don't know what to do and I spend 1/2 the waking hours a day cooking a complicated diet for picky picky picky husband and I would not eat a bite of it. And I HATE cooking.

Default Hi jo - Thank you

How kind you are to mention the stopping smoking. I smoked over 3 packs a day for 42 years.
Food? I want fried chicken, mashed potatoes and buttered rolls someone else cooked. Ice cream, candy, carrot sticks dripping with ranch, real Ranch dressing. I want potato chips. I like junk. I eat candy all day, every day.
I'm a mess

Heart pepperment1~

Hi and welcome to our forum. I too would be happy to weigh 150 pounds. Yes, I like junk food too and ice cream. That's our trouble and giving it up isn't easy. Lizard can tell you best how to do it by keeping a diary. I know it helps, but I'm not good at doing it. I lose very slow also. Liz, where are you today?

Thumbs up I smoked too~

I smoked 2 packs a day for a long time and weighted about a hundred for a long time. I promised God one day I would guit if he would give us a child. He did right away and I never smoked again. I hate smoke too. My husband did smoke tho, and died of lung cancer at 67 yrs old, last year. It nearly broke my heart too, as we were wanting to go on a vacation. I would of just loved to travel as I had just turned 65 just after he died. I miss him so much. People just don't realized cig's kill, no matter how much they advertize it. When he died, a part of me did also, as we were married 47 years. I am happy to say I quit about 30 yrs. ago. It was the smartest thing I ever done.
I am glad you did too.

Sue -the only reason I quit smoking is I knew I was going to be spending lots of times in the hospital and it would be miserable time. I would be MORE miserable if I were desperate for a cigarette. Besides - my first days without a smoke I would be WIRED to a hospital bed. I couldn't change my mind. I wonder if that would work for starting a diet???

Fancy Lady -- I'm so sorry about your husband.

Hi Peppermint, welcome to our group. We are here for friendship and help. I am an ex-smoke too, have been for over 17 years now. I watched a BIL die from cancer and it certainly cured any desire I had to smoke. Once again, welcome...Sue

I am also quite short and need to loose a butt load of weight. I am 4'11" and at this point weigh 185. I have lost 10.5 pounds so far so it is possible to do it at. Unfortunately I have medcations that mess with my appetite to deal with but I guess I am beating them so far.
As for the smoking, never smoked a day in my life. In fact, I am severely allergic to cigarette smoke. So I can't really help with the quitting. Luckily we have plenty of quitters here who can help!
Again welcome to our board and don't forget to check in each day with our roll call threads!
