I am working on this appeal brief and I've come to a spot where I made a serious error, I confused two cases and wrote this totally mishmash thing...
I originally did it in a brief requested by the state district court when I wasn't given much time. Then I copied it into my docketing statement, without realizing it was a mishmash... and I took a huge amount of time to do the docketing statement... (I was given accommodation) then in my reasons why the appeals court should not affirm I cottoned onto the error in the brief requested by the court... BUT TOTALLY FAILED TO SEE that I had the exact same error in my docketing statement... are you still with me. Okay, I've been working on this for a couple/few hours... and I can't ... I can't keep it straight and I don't know what to do... What do you do when you know you are confused and you have to get unconfused but every time you read the thing, whatever it is, you get so confused again that you can't do anything but start over... HELP. Any suggestions??????? (Possibly this doesn't make any sense.)

Hi, Karen,
I used to work as a word processor a long-long time ago before I worked on computer helpdesks. When I had those really long confusing documents that got messed up -- sometimes by me, sometimes by someone else also working on the document -- I used to draw a double-line at the bottom of the document and then cut-and-paste the stuff that did not belong where it was put it down at the bottom of the document. Sometimes it just gets too complicated to go back and forth between two different documents. If you get all the stuff at the top of one document right and the wrong stuff all together down at the button where you can find it later on, then you can move it into the correct document all at one time instead of trying to go back and forth. You've been tied in this stuff for a long time, huh. I wish were there were an easier way for the little guy to get things done in court. I've gone to court several times -- landlord stole things out of my apartment, divorce against my husband, medical malpractice on my Mom. Lost every single one of the cases. The only time I've ever been successful in court has been bankruptcy -- pretty easy to empty out your pockets Good luck. Barb |

the tech support was encouraging... (you're a tech??????) The count of court failures... gosh, but that is so sad. In terms of the medical malpractice one... I tried that and read quite a lot... there was a case where an animal joint was used in a person, though of course the person didn't pay for an animal part... It wasn't animal bone, it was a manufactured joint meant to be used ... in a horse if I remember correctly. And it failed. And the board who decides when there's enough mal practice for it to be actionable decided that wasn't bad enough... It is shocking to me. I don't know how cases go to court, except that there must be major money involved... and to me that reduces all cases to the crass, rather than a matter of justice. You know what, I think I'm going to try your cut and paste thing... I can see that I've got several things in repeatedly... almost the same exact words in one paragraph, and then again with little change a few paragraphs later... I think you're right, if I took out one of the sets and put it somewhere different, then it wouldn't be such a challenge because I'd have already handled it... at least a bit. Thank you for telling me that. (((((((((Barb))))))))))

Hi mommy,
No, I'm not a lawyer. But I've had a lot of problems that resulted in court cases, and not having a lot of money I've had to do them myself. When I tried to use a lawyer it was a huge mistake and cost me soooo much of all the money I had. Please will you wish me luck and say a prayer for me?

Moose and Mommy --
Thank you BOTH so much. I finally got past the tangle that had stopped me for so long. I used Barb's suggestion, but I think I was finally able to do it because mommy was praying for me, and it helped. Thank you BOTH!
