Default The Eclipse

I woke up at 3
There was something to see
An eclipse of the moon
Would be happening soon

Only two hours to go
Then on with the show
It's happening now
I'm moving as fast as a typical cow

I almost fell asleep
Then jumped up to peep
Out the window to view
Earth's shadow now new

Our world in the middle
Of two parts of life's great riddle
Where did we come from
Who made the moon?
Too sleepy to answer
But it's turning red soon?

Our immediate universe lined up in a row
Light reflections causing shadows and glow
When will we learn to go with the flow
With this space and time giving a wonderful show

Sky crystal clear, the moon new dimensions
And yes it looks red, from sun's morning intentions

Taking a minute to see if enlightened
Long ago this alignment caused people to be frightened
The beautiful moon now an ornament in the sky
Was worth losing a few hours of restful shut- eye

Is there some pull that will affect our behavior
I'm eating ice cream - my favorite flavor
I don't know about gravitational pull
I do know my grandson has to go to school.

Paula

Cool poem, Paula! It's amazing what inspires the creative juices to begin flowing.

I was wondering, if werewolves howl at a full moon, babies are born, and bad behaviors emerge - what happens when you have a lunar eclipse? Now I know .. . grannies get up and write poems. lol

Cool poem Paula. I got up and let the dog out about 6:00am. I saw the moon as a red mass in the western sky. I thought it was wierd because I had forgot about the eclips. It's amazing what goes on when we sleep.

I had forgotten about the eclipse too...my daughter called us from Phx at 4:30am when she goes in to work, so we got to see it! Very cool....I haven't seen a lunar eclipse since August 1989...we were in Maine at the time.
