Default idea i have had...

Here is an idea I had for about 6 years now.
I have wrote to different companies and also my Gov. when Jeb Bush was in
Nothing. But I still think it is a semi good life saving idea.
It is to have child car seat alarm .I think there is away to have an alarm put on a car seat and when the car is off and after 5 mins the weight of infant is still in seat and the keys are out of ignition an alarm would sound and also a key chain attachment to alert the driver and any passer bys that the baby/child is still in car. I understand liability but really one could just put on box the device is to aid and is dose not take responsibility.
Or something to that affect.
We have babies left in cars and it is sad that nothing has been done to help at all.

my car has a flashing light to let me know that i have no one sitting in the front passenger seat. it turns the airbag off. it "knows" because of weight.

so simple to put the same kind of thing in a car seat.

here in texas...we have had many kids left in cars to die. i might be a minority, i know the parents suffer, but i do think thye need to be prosecuted to the fullest.

It happens here from time to time as well. Parents leaving children in car to go to the casino.

afterthought: you can buy devices to alert the driver. It's when the driver is away that worries me too, plus people just don't realize how hot a car can get even in a very short time like 10 mins. There is also the need to educate people about these dangers. People also leave their pets in cars too.

I know there are devices to alert parents, but they need something to alert passers-by and they could do that by using a device or devices which measure weight in car seat and also could have a temperature alert system connected to the main alarm system panel somehow. Then it would be silent if the car was running or the air-con was on, but after a certain amount of time it would set off the alarm externally. Not just to the driver's alarm device on the key ring.

They should then have some subsidy system whereby parents can actually afford the device. The main barrier is always going to be that people won't get something installed either because of cost or because they're lazy. Same with specialized car seats per age of child. Still see people driving around here with inadequate child seats or their toddler sitting in the front passenger seat which is highly dangerous as well as illegal.

Chmar thanks for idea of tryin new gov. and I did hear back from ol Jeb even got his hand written autograph at the end of type written letter telling me to write to car makers and safty seat companies. but nothing ever came back from them. I am not tryin to get money or become famous I could care less honestly.
yes parrents should be held and accountable ...but what got this all in my head 6 or so years ago a beautiful little girl was left in a church day care bus/van and forgotten after a trip. and also all these childern the loss of them it was not their fault and something good should be done... something good should come from all the tragicness.
and it shouldnt be that hard to make this gadget or cost so much it would make a great baby shower gift and it is just tough knowing something like this could help a innocent helpless baby , when I hear news .
thanks for input and good conversation.
Peace
