Default New Guy

Hi, my name is Rick, I'm a single 48 year old professional who lives in Northern IL and has been battling nerve pain in my left for since a 1999 motorcycle accident and subsequent surgeries.

I recently had to quit taking a high dosage of Neurontin (Gabapentin) due to liver problems. I have started on Lyrica in hope of having the same relief without making my liver go nuts.

I take Amitriptyline and Celexa to aid the affect of the other drugs.

I still ride motorcycles and could not image not continuing to do so. Life should be lived.

Rick

Hi Rick and Welcome to NT. Northern IL, Huh??? I'm pretty familiar w/that area. One of my best friends' is recuperating from a serious motorcycle/auto accident that happened in Janesville, WI in July.

She was pretty busted up, but b/c of a miracle. she is recovering. So, don't know if she'll ever ride again. Too early for her to tell,as she broke 2 vertebrae in her neck. Anyway, Glad you found us and hope the new meds help you.

Hi, Rick, welcome to NeuroTalk!

Many people do quite well on Lyrica, here's hoping you'll be one of them.

Feel free to join in anywhere.

Hi Rick,

I'm having trouble typing because I'm tired... it took me 5 times to get the letters in your name right...

Okay so right to the point, I was having a lot of B12 shots some time ago, and someone on a forum scared me a bit about the cyano in them...

Recently a young woman who came to my site and who had also lived in hydrogen sulfide and then gotten tetanus later, suggested I try a liver cleanse because of how helpful it had been for her.

So I asked on some forum here about liver cleanses, and I got Milk Thistle and have been taking it ever since. I am amazed at how powerful they say it is.

I'd get that, if I were you and having liver problems.

And, I'd also take B12 in the form of Methylcobalamin ... that's just sooo useful for nerves.

Rick

lol

so are you in Wisconsin? Seems to me that beer was attributed all sorts of powers when I was growing up there...

I just went back and looked, and I see you say you are in Northern Illinoise. So I think you better be careful, being that close to Wisconsin.
(lol)
