Default Hello!!

My name is Beth.

I have been searching for an appropriate community for a couple weeks now and this community seems really interesting. I followed a link from Google to your service dogs subforum. After I moved into the main forum, I noticed that I could get a lot out of the community as a whole... not just the service dog related part.

I currently have a 10 week old puppy who will become my Psychiatric Service Dog. I know basic obedience training, so that shouldn't be a problem. I will probably need to hire a professional for the more complex task related portions of her training since I haven't a clue where to start.

I am still in the process of getting SSI (I can't get SSD because I don't have the work credits for it - I was a stay at home mom until I got divorced, and apparently, that doesn't count). I got my first denial (from what I was told, that's normal) and put in for my appeal about 3 weeks ago. I feel good about it this time around since I have a new therapist who submitted some good information.

I have a lot more going on, but I will reveal that in time. Right now, I have to get ready for an appt. I do procrastinate. lol.

I hope to get to know you all better!

Beth
