just got back from the last of my whirlwind conference adventures....what is it about October? Another big one tomorrow - I am not going but it's still October....

Dr. Kordower is a well-liked researcher, respected by everyone I know who knows him. He is now a Neuturin researcher, but said it was not a scientific decision to halt GDNF. I asked him if he could get GDNF would he work with it and he said yes. I did not ask him to choose between the two, no need- nothing can be done and now he is a gene therapy investigator.

But the point here is that he said cell replacement is way off and what the focus might be on is cell delivery. Delivery of molecules is a real challenge to understate it.

Industry doesn't trust it of course. Bottom line.

Geraldo just forgot what day it is on TV....and while there isn't one funny thing about the fires and even worse the arson, in CA...When Geraldo called today Tuesday, then said "wait a minute, " looking around with that blank where am i look until someone told him what day it is....this can only be described in lay terms as a brain fart and I can so identify......so I'm still gigglin

Sorry. It is a 88 page long list describing exactly what symptoms Mitochondrial Disorders cause, what mutation in what gene causes the disorder, and suggestions for treatment. Specifically Parkinism Aerobic training, Exxercise tolerance increased and Serum lactate Reduced.

vicky, thanks for the info re: mitochondrial disorders. the UDMF web site has references to several very informative articles concerning mt dysfunction. Dr. bruce Cohen and Dr. Deborah Gold's article "Mitochondrial cytopathy in
Adults: what we know thus far" formed the basis for the supplment/vitamin regime my husband follows, and Dr. Cohen's, et. al., article on anesthesia use in mt dysfunction has been useful , also.
