Default Fingers out of control

I am having concern as my fingers are out of control. My pinky will not respond and sticks straight out when typing or anything else. My 2 fingers near my thumb are won't get near each other. The pinky hurts. Its definate ulnar nerve related. I still have sore spot in Brachial area. Another EMG is scheduled. I have mess of nerves in right arm. Radial, ulnar, brachial, and median but pinky is very sore and out of control. Can't raise my right arm above my head either. left pinky is also starting to show signs of sticking out too. Anybody else have such problems with pinky?

Billy- sorry to hear about your typing troubles. I have lots of pinkie/ring finger problems in things that require fine motor control or finger strength- like typing, opening jars, bags of chips, etc. They aren't comfortable, but the only thing that has helped that particular problem are finger exercises.

Hi billy , have you had any kind of therapy for those problems?
Nerve glides??
It has to be from nerve /nerves somewhere being compressed or pinched. Similar to the "clawing" that some get.

Hard part is finding the exact culprit I guess , but the drs /Pts should have some ideas about it.

Yes, seem to think ulnar nerve is problem. Emg will be upcoming to check. The fingers have worsened so much lately. When reching out I notice plexus pain and under elbow pain.

Yes, all familiar.

And I would guess that typing is a big NO NO.

Can you get voice software?

My pinky sticks out too when I type...looks funny doesn't it? My hand does not open like the other hand (not as wide spread I guess you would say) and I tend to keep my hand in a fist cuz it is more comfortable (even though I know this is prob a bad idea)

I definately have some sort of unlar involvement...there appears to be some adhessions in the elbow area. Working alot with a chiro doing ART to help alleviate this...seeing some new docs in the new year as well.

Default finger unresponsive

hi Billy,

when my problem was at its worst, i couldn't write my signature, my fingers would curl up and be almost useless, my elbow ached as though i had smashed it against something. i eventually was able to alleviate these symptoms by taping my shoulder back. this stopped my pec minor from being so dominant.. the pec minor brachial plexus compromise was the straw on the camels back that caused the nerve to misbehave and give illegitimate feedback. it all has something to do with axonal flow and double/multiple crush. this link may help
http://www.whiplash101.com/thoracic_outlet_syndrome.htm

the doctors who stand up agaainst the establishment and maintain that the syndrome exists are heros, it reminds me of the persons who initially proposed the theory that the earth was not the centre of the universe but the church would have nothing of it. i believe that it took quite a while before sanity prevailed. keep going. good luck

Billy - I have noticed that when I'm tired or sick (with a cold or somthing) my TOS is worse (swelling, numbness in my arm) than on a good day. Make sure you get lots of rest and take good care of yourself.
