Default Implanted Spinal Cord Stimulator - Battery Replacement

Hi ALL, Seeker here, Greetings to you all. I am new to the Forum. My wife and I both have spine problems . My wife has Arachnoiditis after a multilevel Fusion. I have had 2 back surgerys, the last being a so called "sucessful" fusion until 6 months later when the problems resumed. It seems like many, I continue to seek answers, solutions, and sharing of lifes experiences.

I do have a question concerning my wife's SCS for which I have not found much experience. Has anyone had to have a battery replaced on the older medtronics SCS? My wife has had hers for 3 years and is nearing the end of battery life. She has severe pain and her STS set to the MAX almost always. In addition she is on meth and fentnyl.

I will probably be getting a STS in the near future. Any comments concerning the new rechargable Medtronic's units
Thanks for any help.
Our Love and Prayers are with you all

Default SCS Implant

Hi,
I am new to the forum and I just saw your posting.
After 2 failed lumbar fusions and many meds including fent. I had a SCS implanted. They could get it to really help with my leg pain. After a year the battery died and they tried to go in and replace the battery and move up the leads. However, my scar tissue prevented that from happening and they removed it. I wished it worked I liked it.
Good Luck,
Jerilyn
