Default Here am I, asking for support again!

Ok...just how carp can one couple take?

As some of you know I've been to "H E ... double hockey sticks" and back lately, with two cancer operations in the past 4 months, well .............................

DH had a teeny weeny little 'stroke" about 18 months ago. Our doctor ordered him a scan on his Carotid Arteries last week. Seems he has a plaque in his right carotid artery which may, or may not, shake itself loose and lodge in his brain. If it does, then we're talking stroke....either major or minor, but there's just no way of knowing until after the fact. Walking time bomb stuff, and scary too, especially seeing his Dad died form a stroke!

Not only that, but....he's had some intermittent hoarseness when speaking. I don't know if the threat of a stroke, or this hoarseness which can indicate throat cancer, is the scariest for me. He's been a smoker, and has high cholesterol, so both things are really high risk factors.

Then of course, there's the mole on his arm that changed shape last week, and is now red around the edges. Our doctor looked today & said it looks very suspicious and has booked a biopsy for him.

BTW, we're not in our eighties yet.......he's 59 and I'm 56 but I'm scared!

Last week it was him scared to death that I might die from this rotten cancer, now it's my turn to worry about him.

Life's just not fair sometimes!

Oh, Anne, that does stink. Okay, so what's the plan? Let's get the lad fixed up so the two of you can get back to your lives. I'll be praying from this side, so that's a good start.

If I've learned anything from you, Anne, it's that no matter how hard things seem, you have the stuff of champions in your heart. Hang on to that!

Keeping my fingers crossed for both of you Anne. Lots of great stuff they can do these days through the miracle of medicine, no matter what he might be facing.
