You never quite exactly know,
Just when the hour may be,
United with your Maker,
You enter eternity.

It may come in the hour,
In may not be for years,
Or in the next second,
Why fear?

Life’s too short for worrying,
Scurrying to and fro,
Fretting over this and that,
When God may say, “Let’s go.”

Maybe there’s a job up there,
That no one can fulfill,
Like tending to a young one,
Who in this world was killed?

He or she may need some love,
And tender care you’ll give,
To help them live forever,
In ways God led you in.

“All things work together for good,” it’s said,
“To them that love God,”
The good that you start here,
Heaven’s angels see above.

Life lived to its fullest,
Fears not those things we see,
But longs for those beyond our reach,
That calls from eternity.

There our true home, resting place,
Our Savior we will meet,
With open arms and tender heart,
He’ll satisfy our need.

Loving, caring, healing us,
Of all our wounds and pride,
Even now He sees us,
Even if we think we hide.

Oh companion, Oh dear Christ,
Prepare my every step,
Your grace and mercy lead me,
To forgive as you have wept.

Thy will be done, I trust in thee,
Make me an instrument of your mercy.
And lead me not into despair,
I know that you are Always There.
