I do Zicam (the cold remedy gel swabs) and they help me SO much. Plus I do herbs that boost your immune system.

My all time fave - a hot toddy. I'm out of whiskey or I'd be having one right now. I wonder if tequila would work as well?

my hubbys fav too - shot of whiskey

Other home things we use for colds-

Vick's vaporub at nite - put where ya feel the worst - throat, chest , near the nose etc
Hot drinks - tea w/ lemon/honey, coffee
Gargle w/ hot salty water {sometimes I just toss a tiny pinch of salt onto my tongue - or eat chips sooths my throat anyway..
Steamy baths/showers
vitamin C - the big chewable ones
[American Health Super Acerola
Acerola Plus delivers Vitamin C plus Bioflavonoids to provide antioxidant protection and help for infections and a host of other ailments. Vitamin C plays an important role in supporting immune function. As an antioxidant, Vitamin C helps neutralize harmful free radicals in cells. These tablets have a natural fruity flavor and may be dissolved in the mouth or chewed.. ]
Or the EmerGenC packets that dissolve in a glass of water
http://www.emergenc.com/

If I get a lot of bronchial congestion I use the Elderberry extract
http://www.google.com/search?q=Elder...ient=firefox-a
I used to take a little bottle of it to work and take drinks out of it when i was really congested in winter when colds/flu were going around.

Hehehehehe pass the whiskey! Atleast it will kill the sore throat pain!

Alffe also told me that putting viks on your feet at night with some socks works wonders. I tried it and it did work. But dont do during the day when you are wearing socks and shoes....your feet can't breathe and you get a little overheated.

Just got back from doc. Looks like strep for me although the culture wont be back till monday. But what looks like a duck....etc, etc. So i got my antibiotics and the good cough med with codeine!
