Yes, I did see that and have read about it on AOL also.

It's something I have always wondered about, particularly when I try to decide what to do with old drugs.

I can't think of any safe way to dispose of them????

Almost everyone has a drug that they couldn't finish due to problems with taking it or maybe having it changed to another dosage or type. So...what does one do with the remaining pills?

There is almost no way to keep them out of the environment. Frankly I do not trust that there is a safe solution by taking them to a landfill. What do they do with them?

I've often wondered it burning them releases residue into the environment. Seems like this would still be the safest solution.

I've looked for sites on-line for help to this problem, but there is no real answer.

Yeah I read that yesterday. It's not surprising...but it's still scary.

Our environment has become so contaminated.

We've ruined out water supply....and who knows how we will ever fix it, as well as the air. I imagine it has created health complications for us and future generations.

It's from years of people flushing meds. California has recognized this and is starting to accept meds at some of their their Hazmat stations. In the meantime, they recommend crushing them, bagging them and putting in your trash to be landfilled.

Our local water treatment facilities have no current way of removing meds from the water supply, so until people stop flushing, it's going to remain an issue.
