Well THAT'S depressing..Especially since MN has been struggling with a deficit this year and funding has been pared down for schools, health care, and the like..And all they can do is send me a small tax incentive, pat me on the head and say "go shopping"..

Thing about the incentive... does anyone know anyone who is going shopping with that?

Everyone I talk to is paying off a debt with it.

Even our fed/state refunds, we're paying off debts with them. Which is good, because then we may have money later to shop with. But still.

We have such a huge deficit, I would rather spend the money on improving our country. My personal debt is getting hit by insurance and my health issues are not going away. Getting $1,200 is a drop in the bucket on a yearly basis.

Permanent tax cuts while troops live in the dirt? Money should go to them, should go to helping veterans, to lunch programs for children, healthcare.

Ugh, I could go on and on.

I completely agree with you.

They treat our veterans like dirt. These people are coming home after serving our country and, well, what I've been reading is not pretty.

I know I might sound selfish, but I believe we should take some of the money that we are sending to those 3rd world countries and start putting it back in OUR SCHOOLS, OUR HEALTHCARE, OUR SOLDIERS, etc.etc.

Just my opinion.

Just one of those things that make me sit back and say hmmm? I am an Independent voter so no ties to any political party, just seems we don`t get a good candidate, just vote for the lesser evil.

The voting record on veterans issues by the veteran candidate is pretty dismal, seems like a heck of a way to pay back the men and women that fight for this country, no matter what your position on it.

Our country is bleeding jobs, good paying ones replaced by lower paying service side jobs. Just my view that the key to an economic recovery depends on people having good paying jobs? = more tax dollars paid into a system that wastes them?

There is no present technology that is going to solve our energy problems, use of food to make fuel increases demand and price, again harming an economic recovery.

News reports 78 million baby boomers to start retiring by 2011 and no plans to fix Social Security, LOL cut benefits? raise retirement age? I don`t believe that everyone views retirement as working till they die or become to sick to work, of course not everyone is a politician.
