Post Hello... Extra Vertebra between T and L Spine.

Hello there all. I recently changed insurance AGAIN, and am in need of a new doctor. I sent my MRI results to a Neurological Center and the response that I got... along with them sending the films back at me was: "You need alternative mobility to preserve your quality of life." I translate to mean... you're up a creek, get a wheelchair.

I have had 8 surgeries associated with cervical and uteran cancer - culminating in a hysterectomy in 1995 when I was 24 years old.

My spine started to herniate in 1993 when I was 22 years old. Apparently, according to all doctors and healthcare staff I was too young for this. I wish someone would have mainlined that to my spine.

I was diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, Spondoloythesis, and Ridicopathy associated with all the spine surgeries. I have now had 4 back surgeries and am 37 years old. I have an extra vertebra in my Lumbar Spine... of course it took 7 surgeons and 3 surgeries to discover this. I have been living with chronic pain for 15 years and I'm tired. However, I trudge on... once more trying to find a team of doctors to help.

I would like to know if anyone out there knows of any treatments for Spinal Stenosis... I'm pretty much horizontal 3-4 days a week now due to the pain and constant numbness in both legs and knees.

I'm now carrying my medical files and films for myself. I live in Northern Arizona and there doesn't seem to be much relief in this little section of the world. If you have info, please let me know... I dreadfully curious about new technologies and what I can expect going forth...

Thanks in advance!!!

Oh GypsyChild you've certainly been through a lot....many surgical procedures, even a hysterectomy at that young age. You sure have had it tough.

I must say that for all you've been through, you have spirit, and I like that!

Welcome to NeuroTalk GypsyChild, I'm so very pleased to meet you.

I'm sure it won't be long at all until you get to know some of our wonderful members. You'll find us all empathetic, albeit sometimes abit "whacky" but always supportive.

Have a look around GypsyChild, and make yourself at home.
