Default A great Lady and Leader

I'm touched by a local story here in Alaska. We have our first Lady Governor. She was elected in about 1.5 years ago and she is one fiesty lady. She is standing up to the big Oil Companies and bringing them to their knees

She has 4 children, one whom just joined the Marines. She works tirelessly 7 days a week. She has been a real blessing to our state.

So about 6 weeks ago she announced she was pregnant (she's like 44!) and was due in May. She hid it very well! LOL!!!

So last week she flew to Texas to give a speech. Before the speech her water broke . So what did she do? This baby was going to be born in Alaska!!! She GAVE her 30 minute speech....got on a plane (about a 8-9 hour flight) flew home to Alaska, went to the hospital and gave birth....to a Downs Syndrom child. (She KNEW he would be DS)....Its a wonderful story and she says she loves this child and knows God gave him to her because she could provide a good life to him....

WOW!!! WHAT A LADY!!! Thought some of you might enjoy hearing about her courage and fighting spirit.

PS: Her name is Gov. Sara Palin and did I mention she was also "Miss Wasilla" a beauty queen in her youth? LOL!!

This was her FIFTH child and she got on a plane after her water broke for an 8-9 hour flight!?? I can't believe the airline would allow her to do such a thing! Or was it a private jet? Either or - having had children myself I know that they come faster with each one you have.....how did she manage to wait that long? I'm happy everything is OK but it seems like she put herself and the baby in a potentially harmful situation.

Sounds like she's one determined lady and I wish her all the best with her new addition.

I am guessing it was a private jet because the airlines usually don't let you fly after your 7th month. But I don't know the whole story either...

This article says she was flying Alaska Airlines.

I don't know if Sara flew a Chartered flight. I highly doubt it. The first thing she did (literally) when she got into office is put up Frank Murkowski's private jet that he bought with state money even after the voters said NO! He was an arrogant SOB. She sold it on Ebay (or tried, LOL!!). She said then that she would use regular airfare like the rest of the world.

However, that said, I doubt Alaska Airlines would dare to tell this Governor no. No is not an option with Sara Like I said, a very special lady. I suspect she had a nurse or doctor fly with her home as a precaution.
