Heart Bragging rights: Just what I needed.

My youngest son Nik (age 19) wrote me today and told me about a radio station contest for Mom's. He submitted an entry and sent me what he wrote. I cannot tell you how much I needed this with all that has been going on. He really made my day today. He get points for this one and I am going to brag on my boy. It's a tear jerker for sure. Here is what he wrote:

"My favorite radio station is running this competition for amazing moms. The winner receieves a $1000 shopping spree. This is what I submitted about you. I fully believe you deserve it and I meant every word:

My mother has given her entire life for our family. In 2003 she gave up her new career as a teacher to take full-time care of my father when his Multiple Sclerosis became worse. Every day she devotes herself to serving not only my father's needs, but the rest of the needs of our entire family. She unselfishly devotes her life to be the one that our family turns to in times of crisis. She is the glue that holds our entire family together. No matter how many things my mother has to do, I can always personally depend on her to be there in my times of need. I don't always understand how it's possible that she can do so much for everyone in her life. If it weren't for my mother, I wouldn't know what it truly means to love.

-Love, Nik"

Aww, Sandy, that is SO sweet! You should brag about him - he sounds like a wonderful son. And it sounds like you did a wonderful job raising him up.

I hope he wins - but I know you feel like you already won the prize just by him sharing this with you!

You are so right. I have won already. Nothing can top the love he poured out in those words. I am a softy too and tear up everytime I read it. The station will choose the top five on May 2nd and reveal the winner on, I think, May 9th.

This is the radio station, I will be listening on May 2nd and the 9th: 91.7 WBGL

I was so envious when a man at our Zion's MSer hike introduced his wife (she has MS) as "the most wonderful wife in the world."

But Sandy, a Mom could live on your son's contest entry for the rest of her days. Congratulations to the "most wonderful Mom in the world!"
