Shelle,

That is a good thing (a complete MRI) because it will provide your physician with the data necessary to treat you accordingly.

Welcome Shelle. Nice to meet you.

Yes I had a couple of full MRIs. Vic is right, if you've never had one, a full MRI is a good thing.

Come back and tell us about yourself..

Hi Shelle and welcome to neurotalk.

What do you mean that you feel your cns is shutting down?

I think a complete MRI is wonderful. The doc will be able to see everything that is going on with you.

I can imagine it is a scary time for you but this forum is a wonderful support system.

Hopefully you will get some answers soon. Please keep us posted

A lot of people get regular MRI's of their brain and spine, even as often as once or twice a year. He is probably just looking to see if there are any changes, since you are having new symptoms.

Are you currently on any injectibles; Betaseron, Avonex, Copaxone or Rebif? I don't and won't take these drugs (due to sensitivities) so neither my specialist or myself see the point in getting MRI's. I've only had one set, many years ago.

Hi Shelle and welcome to NeuroTalk from me as well.

It's quite normal to feel scared at a time like this, but as the others have told you, we're all here to offer you any support and advice that we can.

I agree that a full MRI is an excellent idea. I have only ever had a full one done once, and the neurologisit who ordered that for me, was the best I've ever seen. Usually I only get brain and cervical spine films ordered when I go for check MRIs.

I think by ordering a full spine as well as brain films, your neuro has a good starting place from where to assess the extent of your condition.

Welcome again Shelle. Please keep us up to date on how you're managing. You're part of our "family" now!
