In light of Cherie's post I thought it would be interesting to see how many smokers there are versus non smokers.

The only time I smoke anymore is when I'm driving..It helps me to stay awake..

I am 68 and have been a pack a day smoker since age 18.....but.....I don't inhale a lot...LOL

I've always been a non-smoker, just couldn't figure out how to inhale, and didn't like the smoke. I'm the only one in the family, all my siblings smoke. Dad used to, but has COPD and refused to wear oxygen, so he quit 12 years ago, cold turkey. Vanity has it's rewards.

Turns out I have asthma, and am extremely sensitive to scents of all sorts, so it seems to work out.

I'd prefer no smoke, but as long as the smoker is courteous, I can either deal with it, or walk away. It's my choice.

Never smoked...except tons of second hand smoke. My Dad smoked, brothers, and sister-in-laws...I tease the Olhipie that every time I cough or wheeze that it’s just my Emphysema...he doesn’t laugh.

Never drank either...my entire family did...not sure why I made the choice to not. My brothers always offered me a beer but I told them that I don't have to drink to have fun...

Great thread...very interesting...FYI...my son chews and smokes, also his girl friend and my daughter and her boy freind...its their choice...

I have smoked since I was 11. Yes, you read that right. My first cig was a Kool because we thought we were cool. lol Jim and I have cut down to four cigs a day and I am OK with that.

Smoked from 1988-2005. Noone could ever believe I was a smoker. DH didn't even know it for the first couple of months. I still miss it a lot, but I think I'll probably be ok. I failed miserably after my last 2 year quit, but I feel much better about it this time.
