Default Barbie and Elmo but no Grandma

My 18 month old grandaughter is at the stage that she picks up almost any word that is said to her. She loves to talk about Barbie and Elmo and her favorite Sunday School worker named Patrick but she can't say Grandma yet Her sister started out saying Mamaw and Babaw. But I know how her face lights up when i go down there and how she immediately gets a book and crawls up on Grandpas lap. So I guess we will have to wait.

Grand Koala turned one on Mother's Day.

He can say Nan (that's me) but he can't say Pop or Poppy (my DH), or GrandMa or GrandPa (the other grandparents).

That's one up for me I think, and I love it

Here's a photo of Grand Koala:

doydie, that is a bummer. But it will come in time and you will just melt! My nephew just started to say auntie. I was probably the last name he has said. It is so sweet to hear, I love it.

Koala your grand koala is adorable!!!! Thanks for the pic.

Ahh..the memories of when they first say your name! It will come soon!

And Koala is just too cute.

My 2 yr old grandaughter can, if guided say Granny. You have to push her. But she always calls my Mommy.

She can say Daddy, Poppa, her aunt's name, all of our pet's names (although not all of them too clearly, lol - she's working on Ozzy, and Rudy sounds like WooWee ).

I dunno. She used to say Granny when she was 1. (shrug)

I tell her, "Keep it up kid, and I'm taking you out of my will and feeding you creamed asparagus."

She thinks that's funny.

I'm watching her today. We blew bubbles for 2 hours.

doydie, my grandmonkey was such a tease.

he called me THAT until he was 2 1/2. yup. THAT.

it all started out with me teaching him everyone elses name.

then my husband would point to me and say "who's THAT? " well..he said THAT. then it turned into MEME. i guess cuz i would say...no..not THAT. ME.

just give her more time.
