Grin Let's All Evolve with Oprah!!

I was listening to The Unger Report on NPR on my way home from work today..He was talking about a magazine interview with Oprah, the 2nd she'd done with them in something like 10 yrs, and she said that nothing's changed in that time..Her house hadn't changed, her career hadn't changed, SHE hadn't changed. She evolved. What a great idea! Next time someone comments on how much you've changed, just tell them you haven't changed at all. You've evolved. He made a comment about some far future archeologist finding a petrified Oprah in a forest and noticing how evolved she was..Maybe you had to be there. You can listen to it on NRP's website..

Cool Smirk

She's becoming, oops!...I meant, she's evolving into her own God.

I keep getting a card in the mail to get Oprah's magazine for $15 a year!

something about a research discount for MS patients! does anyone else get this? I swore the next time I received one I would send it in.

I like some of her shows, but hate others. I recently started to Tivo her show, and I can pick through um. Most of the time, I scan and delete them. Now and again, she really gets my attention. Like Dr. Oz day.

Polar,
I didn't know anything about that - are you teasing or is she really and if so - I cannot stand Dr. Phil - have to change channels when he comes on . (but that is just me)...

About half my friends love Oprah and her new found spirituality and it seems the other half don't like her at all. OK - so I have 2 friends...

But it is interesting that people are so split on how the feel about her now - I am still a big fan and I really like the book - doesn't change my views on Christianity (my choice) but simply helps me take a deeper look and hopefully form a closer bond to God. No offense intended to those who do not believe in God (I also have some athiest friends and we simply agree to disagree)...

Back to Oprah - I don't want this to digress into a religous thread that brings with it lots of frustrations..

It's all good.

But Polar - if she is doing that Network - I will look for it later and see what I can find about it.

If you are teasing - well - I'm used to that - sometimes I can be gullible !

Snoods

I'm with you, Snoods....I cannot stand to watch Dr. Phil. I know he got his start through Oprah and I watched him when he was first on the air but not now. Something about him just irritates the daylights out of me.

I will watch Oprah if there is a topic I'm interested in and especially if Dr. Oz is on. I like her some of the time.....some of the time I think she is just way too impressed with herself.

I dont care for Dr. Phil. He comes off as a smartie pants bully! He is self righteous and condesending to some folks that could really use his help, and not his showmanship. When he first came to Oprah, I thought he was ok. Had some good things to say, and was to the point. He has involved IMHO into a big ol meanie! I too turn the channel when I see his show on.

I do not fully agree with some of Oprah's view on spirit, but I do agree, that she has been making a dent in the world. Her arrival into the political arena scares me some though. I am happy that she has people talking, and looking at themselves for their own spirits. That makes me happy.

I wouldn't kid about something like an Oprah network (wouldn't have thought of it, actually)..It's real, I think it's something simple like OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network)..I know it was briefly mention in that radio story I was talking about (you can hear it at www.npr.org, it was on Monday 6/2's Unger Report)..
Oh, and a severe dislike of Dr Phil seems to be all that these days..I first really got into her show when she had Deepak Chopra on. I still find him fascinating..
