Angry not happy!!!!!!

Ive been going trough a relapse for like a month.

Last week,i started to feel like my legs were jello, and i am haveing bladder problems..

I have severe weakness,so bad that I got stuck in the bathtub,
I went to the ER on sunday morning, and the ER doctor said I was in a flare, and did a solumedrol push,to lession the sx.
At this point I had severe pain in my feet,so the solumedrol took the pain away, till today that is.

I went to my neuro today, and she said it wasnt urgent enough for solumedrol...

warning!!Excuse my laungage..

Ok I went in to the office, bearly made it to her office.

I was in there, with my bags packed, and ready to be put in the hospital.

She asked a bunch of questions, one was bout my bladder, which I cant seem to pee..
I told her this, and she wrote it down, the moved on to the neuro exam..

She did the lil push ,pull thing,I got confused, and then she got rude with me over it..

I was ******,but thats not all.

She made me do the drunk walk, which I about fell, and I was turning to the right.

the she said,it isnt urgent enough for solumedrol, and ordered a MRI..
That was it, She refused to put me on anything,I told her Ive had severe pain in my feet, and she ignored me.

I was so ****** at this point, that I was seeing red!!.

I knew there was a reason i was wanting to fire her in the frist place.

So tomorrow im gonna look up neuro's in the tulsa area, and hope that one of them will work me like soon..

I’m sorry, but I say kick ‘em to the curb! Every patient cannot thrive under the treatment of every doctor. Chin up, and go on. Seek and you shall find. Don’t settle for less than you need. Finding the right doctor for you is a pain in the asterisk, but when you find your match, you’ll be glad you put the effort into it.

Let us know how it goes, OK?

Always one to play devil's advocate: are you sure the doc wasn't just having her own really bad day?

Could there be a reason she doesn't want to put you on steroids? I mean, we can't take them all of the time (thought it sure sounds like you could sure use them) and maybe its a bit soon since your last round?

Although, no matter what, your doc didn't sound kind, or sympathetic, or the least bit supportive. If the doc is always (or nearly always) dismissive, then absolutely find another, and quick.

I sure hope you feel better soon.

Well, no matter what, the Doc does not have a right to be rude to a pt. I'm surprised that you weren't given something to alleviate your sx's. Hope you can get this resolved soon and feel better.

The bad thing about finding a new Neuro, esp when in a flare, is it might take a while to get in and that just means prolonging your pain. Really sorry your'e feeling so bad.

Definitely find another doc. I'd rather buy bigger pants and feel good!

I'm currently on a 6 month solumedrol pulse. Not only have I not gained any weight in the first three months, I've lost 5 lbs! I think its the prednisone that causes weight gain (or am I just unique in not gaining?)

So sorry you're feeling so bad and your doc is such a jerk
