Default Fell Down Again

Well this was the third fall this year. Went out back to
the shed to get something and before I got there down I go.

Black and Blue my favorite colors. My left hip is hurting.

The dr. is off today. I have to call at 9am and hopefully they
will get me in. I tried calling today because the ms sx have been
battleing the past few days something awful.

When I fell,I sat there and just cried not because I was seriously
hurt but, because of thinking how I can really lose my independence.
Also being alone, only with Sage wondering what is she doing.

Have to admit I have been down in the dumps for over a month and
this just set things off more. This flare is getting worse instead of
better. I have not had a good nights sleep in about 4 days.

Thanks for letting me vent. But you are the only ones that know
how I truly feel and I am so lucky to have you.

Jappy,
Sorry to hear that you feeling down. Hopefully you will be able to see the doctor tomorrow
Try and take it easy. Do you have a cane or something that you use? it may help your stability. Just a thought

I'm so sorry that you fell but so glad you didn't seriously hurt yourself....

I swear there must be something in the air because I have been having a heck of a time also...and so have a lot of others that I've talked with.

I'm not trying to make light of this...but know you aren't alone and we can all help hold each other up

I know how you feel, I fall all the time, stay banged up and skin is like paper. If you feel it is serious, find a walk in clinic that does XRays!! I dread the day when I have to get one of the alert necklaces

No Jappy, not again.. Feel better, sweety..

Tell me, have you trained Sage to help you up, when you fall? If not, you should. I'm sure, being the kind of dog she is, that she wants to help.

Dear Jappy-

I know just how you feel, having spent a fair amount of time unexpectedly insoecting the ground... For me, it was less the injury or bruises but more the fear of the future. I can just hear my inner voice saying: "Oh God, is this what I have to look forward to? Am I going to be able to take care of myself and my responsibilities? Will I end up "crippled" & at the mercy of others to help me?" It was as if I was loosing a fight, but had no ability to swing back~ no matter what I did. Sometimes life just doesn't seem very fair does it

While I do not have a magic answer, I do send my love and prayers that you will get through this period - now and in the future. I find that forcing myself to make light of the situation helps. Heck, it at least lets people laugh with me and not at me (or worse yet, pity me).

Gentl hugs and all my hopes that this is just "one of those days" for you. I imagine we have all been there. That is what is so great about NT; having a place to vent and be reassured we are not alone. After all, we all need a safe place to dump scary thoughts, eh?

dear jappy,

i'm so sorry.
your dr definite needs to know not just about the fall but about your flare and how you're doing overall, including the bout of depression.

i know this can feel scary but with your dr's care i hope he can help you with some strategies to care for yourself independently, and safely.

could your doggy be trained to be a helper dog. what do they call them????
maybe your local MS society could offer some suggestions.

they also have people that will come to your home (occupational therapists?) to help guide you in your home environment.

please keep us posted.
i hope you didn't hurt yourself and the bruises are the only reminder of this fall.

hoping the best for you.

Well the good thing is that you had a soft landing and not a hard one to break a hip.

Do contact your doctor. You may need a support device and the doctor should be able to figure out what would work best. Plus there may be other accomodations that can be made in your home to help you stay independent and safe for as long as possible.

I am sure it is hard living alone and having these issues.

Your dog loves you and wants you to take very good care of you, so you can take good care of him/her!! Feel better soon.

You and I need to invent some rubber tire looking thing that people would wear and when you fall down you bounce right back up. Heck, it might look silly to wear, but it would be fun! In fact, I would then fall just for the heck of it! These Opps-A-Daisys, say we need a fancy name for them, you work on that, could come in all sorts of colors and patterns, you know to match your clothes.
Why, I bet, kids would even like them and then we would be kewl cause we had them first! Kewl...we would be rich!

Anyhoo! Enough about rubber tires...

Sorry you fell and glad you are ok.
