For awhile our white german shepherd has had light brown hair under her left eye. It doesn't bother her however. She gets little black 'sleep stuff' under her eye in the morn but someone can wipe it off (my other dog would bite if you tried to do this). What is it & is it anything I should be worried about? She has always had it & the vet never said anything, but I never asked anything. She is 2 yrs 9 months.

I have a black lab rottie mix and he has that under his eyes everday also. He is 10 now and has had it forever so I don't think it is a problem. I just wipe it away and he goes on his merry way.
Now if it was gummy looking (like an infection) I would have the vet look at it...Sue
