I wonder I Alffe's "gnats" are really fruit flies....you have to pour some bleach done the drain (not much) then (most important), cover the drain over night. They breed in the drains. You might have to do it to all your drains and for more than one night, but it should work.

I wonder if I will come home with a grandaughter in tow...

I wonder how I will miss Moi for a week but how nice it will be to see the family...

A bowl full of vinegar and a little dishsoap is a popular way to reduce gnat populations by trapping them. Gnats go for the vinegar in the hopes of a good meal, and find that the lack of water tension caused by the dishsoap won't let them out of the bowl. There's nothing like cheap and natural gnat control for a slim budget.
