Default My Heart

boxed and hidden
protected from further pain
no longer open for bidding
sheltered from the rain
that comes with the pain
folks falsely call love

and I sit and wonder...

what's in a word?
what's in a mind?
what's in a heart?
back to the start?

sheltered and protected
hidden from further rain
rusted and neglected
there's nothing left to gain
from accepting the pain
given with false love
