Default People who have a mental illness feel that God has cursed them

I had to explain to a co worker that even though she is suffering depression and pain in her heart, it is not God punishing her. She thinks God hates her I guess. I told her God does not hate her. The reason why there is illness is because of the fall of man. I told her it is sin that has done this to us. But God sent Jesus to save us all from sin. That is God's grace.

I hope I explained this well. I told her God loves people not hate people. If He hated people then God would of not His only begotten Son to save us.

I am glad. She has been through a lot. Depression hurts I know because I suffered it a lot in 2006 physically. She tells me things like she hopes a bus hits her because suicide is just not worth doing. She has attempted it before and she recently has stop one of her friends from doing it. When she saw what it does on the outside she realized she never wants to do it again because of all how it effects the other people who care about her. She does not want them to be sad.

I think what I am trying to say is that she needs prayer.
